Reach The Beach Relay

For the past 7 years, Mt. Calvary and friends have run the annual REACH THE BEACH (RTB) RELAY. The RTB is the longest running relay race in the United States and takes place in picturesque New Hampshire at the start of the New England foliage season.  The relay consists of (a maximum of) 12 person teams that will rotate through 36 transition areas as they cover the 210 mile distance of the race.  Each team members runs 3 legs of varying length and difficulty and will cover an average total distance of 16.6.

The RTB helps raise funds for the Central Food Ministry of Lowell.  The central food ministry serves 1800 families with much needed food and clothing as well as being an important Christian outreach in the Lowell community.

The 2006 RTB was a great success and included MCLC runners, Pastor Tim Knapp, Don King, Hugh Oxnard, Bill Schade, and Jill Lohmeier.  They were joined by fellow teamates, Matthew King, Nancy Fillmore, Coach Natalie DiNitto, Shelly Turcott, Jon Cohen, Mike Pelton and Scott Keller.  Mike Gallivan and Don Hardy were our fearless van drivers.  We can't wait to do it again this year, and if you love to run and enjoy the challenge of relay, please come join us.
